The Green Briar Pub – Monday evening Music Session, 9pm to closing

The Green Briar is the oldest and biggest session in Boston and is hosted by Larry and Mike Reynolds. Larry is the President of the Boston Branch of Comhaltas and Mike teaches Accordion in the Comhaltas School. Both will always give you a big welcome. You may see 30 to 40 musicians on a given night, with some excellent young musicians sharpening their skills. If you are lucky you might also hear some poetry from Jack White as well as a few good songs.
There is a Slow Session earlier, at 7pm, to help you get up to speed on the local tunes.
The Skellig Pub has a music session on Tuesday night starting about 8:30 or 9pm.

This session is also hosted by the Reynolds Family and while a smaller session, always has a great group of musicians, singers and the occasional dancer belting the floor.
This Pub is a Sister Institute to the famous Burren Pub in Somerville, both owned by musicians Tommy McCarthy and Louise Costello.

Attend the Sunday Brunch Session to hear the fine accordion music of the Gannon Family and friends. See the Boston Musicians section for the CD’s of both John Gannon and his son Colm (All-Ireland Champion on Accordion). You might also hear George Keith there, a wonderful fiddle player and teacher in the Comhaltas Music School.
On Saturday afternoons at the Burren you can listen to a session composed of some of the best young emerging musicians from the Boston area, and on Monday night you can learn some Irish Set Dancing with Ger Cooney, all are welcome to join in on the fun.

This is a nice little pub, a half hour south of Boston, hosted by Skip Toomey with help from Andrea Mori. Andrea teaches whistle and flute in the Comhaltas School.

If you are West of Boston near Worchester you can stop in at this very welcoming Session and sing a song with Dan Mahoney and Friends.
